Q What is AuctionMemory?
A simple, free service to help you find items on eBay that you might otherwise miss. See this 90 second video to learn how it works. You enter the items you want. AuctionMemory searches eBay and sends you an email every 5 days with a link that takes you to one page with all your search results. This is SO MUCH easier than trying to do the same thing on eBay itself.
Here's an example. My son wanted to buy Zoo Tycoon 2 for the Mac. The first time I looked, there were none available on eBay. I entered it into AuctionMemory, and 5 days later I got an email with a link to current Zoo Tycoon 2 auctions. I had forgotten all about it, but the email reminded me, and I was able to get the game for my son.
Q How do you generate these results?
These results come directly from eBay's database. AuctionMemory is an eBay compatible application and was certified by eBay.
Q How can you do this for free? What's the catch?
No catch. eBay helps to subsidize tools like AuctionMemory by providing us with a slice of the fees they generate from sellers. This in no way affects your auction or the price you might pay for any item. It comes from eBay's profit (and they can afford it). That slice helps us pay for bandwidth, new features and my son's guitar lessons. If you find AuctionMemory useful, I sure would appreciate you telling your friends.
Q I lost my password. How do I get it back?
Use this link Can't remember your password?.
Q How many items can I search for?
There is no limit.
Q What if I don't want to search for an item any more?
You can simply delete any auction you don't want to see any more by going into your account page and selecting "delete" next to that particular item.
Q What if I want emails more or less frequently?
At this time emails are sent every 5 days. The vast majority of all eBay auctions last for 7 days, so a 5 day email interval gives you the best chance of seeing available auctions without bombarding you with too many emails.
Q I'm not getting any emails. Where are they?
When you first get started, our system sends you a confirmation email. You must read and click the confirmation link to receive AuctionMemory emails. This is how we make sure that only people who really want them get these emails. It is possible your confirmation email was mistakenly filtered into your spam or junk folder by your email program, so make sure to check for it there. You must also have at least one item listed in your account to begin receiving emails. If you simply can't find it, just register again, perhaps using a different email address.
Q How can I change the items I am searching for?
Go to your account page and you can edit existing items, delete them, or add new items using the "New Search" box.
Q How can I change how items are sorted on my page?
Go to your account page and select "edit" next to the item you wish to change. You will see a "Sort Field" drop-down box where you can select different sorting criteria. Helpful Tip: You may want to sort by price and then select "Descending" in the drop down box below to put the highest priced items first. This can be very useful if, for example, you are looking for a car or other item that comes with lots of accessories. By putting the highest priced items first, you usually get the main item on top, and accessories, parts, etc below.
Note that you can also change the number of items displayed on your page by default.
Q Can I have multiple accounts?
You can have multiple accounts using different email addresses, but it is usually better to add multiple items to the same account because that way just one email will be sent and will link to all your auction searches. It's more efficient that way and less likely to clutter up your mail box.
Q How do I cancel?
Simply use the unsubscribe link on any email and you will no longer get any emails from us and your pages will no longer be generated.
